What to use for cleaning

Use only the following recommended cleaning tools and solutions.

Ultraviolet C (UVC) cleaner

If you have a UVC cleaner, you can use it as an effective way to decontaminate your headsets and controllers.

Note: Before using a UVC cleaner on your VR devices, make sure to properly cover the headset lenses and sensors. Discoloration due to UV exposure is not covered by the warranty.

Rubber air pump

Use a handheld rubber air pump to blow loose dust particles off the lenses and eye trackers before wiping them down.

Microfiber cloths

Prepare at least two separate microfiber cloths for cleaning, and ensure the following:

The cloths are clean and dust-free.
For lenses and eye trackers, use only a dry cloth.
For headphone pads on PC VR headsets, use a cloth that is lightly dampened with water.
Important: To prevent damaging the headphones, make sure that water does not drip into the headphone speakers.

Disinfectants

When cleaning the hard surfaces of the headset exterior, leather or fabric face cushions, and other accessories, use a microfiber cloth that is lightly dampened with a disinfectant.

We recommend the following disinfectant solutions:

Diluted alcohol solution containing 70%–75% ethanol (ethyl alcohol)
Diversey™ Virex® II 256 Disinfectant Cleaner (1:256 dilution)

You can also use one of the following disinfecting wipes:

Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes (Bleach-free)
PDI Super Sani-Cloth® Germicidal Disposable Wipe

Important:

Do not spray disinfectants or other liquids directly onto the VR equipment.
Do not apply disinfectants or wipes to foam material (such as the foam face cushions), the straps, or sensitive components (such as the lenses or eye trackers).
Do not dip or soak the headset or controllers in liquid.
Aside from our recommended disinfectants, do not use other organic solvents or acidic liquids for cleaning the exterior of headsets, controllers, or accessories.
Do not tumble dry, iron, or expose the face cushions to direct sunlight.
