Installation overview

Install the PCIe WiGig card & wireless link box

Attach the Wireless Adapter

IMPORTANT:

You need an available PCIe slot for installing the WiGig® card.
You need to have 64-bit Windows® 7 SP1 or Windows® 10 on your computer.
Before you start installing the Wireless Adapter, make sure you have successfully completed the setup for VIVE headset .

Step 1

Install the PCIe WiGig card & wireless link box

Make sure to shut down your computer before installing the PCIe card and wireless link box. Scan the QR code here to get the instructions on your phone.

Unplug your computer.

Shut down your computer. Unplug the power cable and all other cables from your computer.

NOTE: Your computer may be hot if you’ve been using it for a long time. Wait for a few minutes to let the computer cool before removing its cover.

Install the PCIe WiGig card in your computer.

Insert the PCIe WiGig card in an available PCIe slot on your motherboard.

NOTE: In very rare cases, depending on the brand of motherboard you're using, compatibility issues may occur. Please try other PCIe slots when this happens.

Close the computer cover.

Close the computer cover securely. Reconnect the power cable and all other cables to your computer.

Connect the wireless link box to the PCIe card. Then, clip it to your monitor.

Connect the wireless link box to the card. Screw the provided clip to the base of the wireless link box. Then, attach the clip to your monitor.

Turn on your computer.

You can now turn on your computer and proceed to the next step: attaching the Wireless Adapter to your headset.

Step 2

Attach the Wireless Adapter

Please select your headset type first

IMPORTANT: To see instructions on how to attach the Wireless Adapter to your headset, please select a headset type above.

Open the compartment cover and remove the 3-in-1 cable.

Carefully push open the compartment cover to access the connection ports on the headset.

Carefully pull the tab until the HDMI cable is unplugged. Then, unplug the power cable and USB cable.

Attach the Wireless Adapter to the strap at the top of your headset.

There's a cradle attached at the base of the Wireless Adapter. Unfasten the horizontal velcro strap and you'll see a clip on the cradle.

To attach the Wireless Adapter to your headset, insert the cradle's clip into the sleeve that shows the VIVE logo on the headset strap.

Use both the vertical and horizontal velcro straps to secure the Wireless Adapter in place.

Wrap both straps around the headset strap and fasten them.

Insert the 3-in-1 short cable.

Insert the L-shaped HDMI, USB, and power connectors of the 3-in-1 short cable through the headset strap hole, followed by the compartment cover hole.

Plug in both ends of the cable to the respective ports on the headset compartment and the Wireless Adapter as shown in the image.

Close the headset compartment.

Align the ridges on the cover with the tabs on the compartment. When aligned, push the cover until it snaps in place.

Connect the Wireless Adapter to the power bank.

Use the long USB cable provided in the box to connect the Wireless Adapter to the power bank.

IMPORTANT: Use only the HTC QC 3.0 Power Bank with the VIVE Wireless Adapter.

Open the compartment cover and remove the 3-in-1 cable.

Carefully push open the compartment cover to access the connection ports on the headset.

Carefully pull the tab until the HDMI cable is unplugged. Then, unplug the power cable and USB cable.

Attach the Wireless Adapter to the top band of the Deluxe Audio Strap.

There's a cradle attached at the base of the Wireless Adapter. Unfasten the horizontal velcro strap and you'll see ridges on the cradle.

Align the cradle's ridges with the corners of the top band's hard shell. Press down ﬁrmly to attach the Wireless Adapter in place.

Insert the 3-in-1 short cable.

Close the headset compartment.

Connect the Wireless Adapter to the power bank.

Use the long USB cable provided in the box to connect the Wireless Adapter to the power bank.

IMPORTANT: Use only the HTC QC 3.0 Power Bank with the VIVE Wireless Adapter.

Replace the headset cable.

To replace your VIVE Pro headset cable with the short headset cable provided in the attachment kit, please do the following:

First, remove the face cushion and compartment cover from the headset.

Unplug your current headset cable from the VIVE Pro headset.

Connect the short headset cable provided in the attachment kit.

Loop the cable around the left edge of the headset band and press it into the black ridge to ﬁx it in place.

Place the compartment cover back into the headset. Reattach the face cushion to its original position. Make sure the velcro straps are aligned with the headset.

Replace the head pad’s cushion.

Detach the head pad from the headset and peel oﬀ its cushion. Replace it with the new cushion provided in the attachment kit.

Replace the cradle.

From the base of the Wireless Adapter, detach the screws and remove the cradle that's used for VIVE.

Attach the cradle for VIVE Pro to the base of the Wireless Adapter, and then fasten the screws back into place.

Attach the Wireless Adapter to the headset.

Unfasten the velcro strap and you'll see a clip on the cradle.

Insert the cradle's clip at the top of the headset strap.

Align the cushion with the Wireless Adapter. Wrap the velcro strap around the cushion and fasten it.

Connect the cable and Wireless Adapter to the power bank.

Insert the other end of the short headset cable to the back of the Wireless Adapter.

Use the long USB cable to connect the Wireless Adapter to the power bank.

IMPORTANT: Use only the HTC QC 3.0 Power Bank with the VIVE Wireless Adapter.

Replace the headset cable.

Replace your VIVE Cosmos headset cable with the short headset cable from the VIVE Cosmos Wireless Adapter Attachment Kit. Here's how.

First, flip up the headset band, peel off the back pad until it detaches from the headset band, and then unhook the top strap. Detach the headset cable strip from the back pad.

On the left side of the headset band, flip open the metal clasp of the headphone and detach the left headphone and side cushion.

Carefully pull out the face cushion frame to detach it from the visor, then unplug the original headset cable.

Connect the short headset cable to the headset cable port.

Reattach the face cushion frame by aligning its tabs to the slots on the headset and gently pushing the face cushion frame in. You'll hear a click when the face cushion frame locks into place.

Reattach the left headphone clip and side cushion to the headset band. Make sure the stopper is between the visor and the left headphone.

Attach the wireless adapter head pad for VIVE Cosmos.

Insert the hooks on the buckle of the top headset strap into the holes on the thin velcro pad. Make sure the thin velcro pad is flush against the top headset strap.

After attaching the thin velcro pad, hook the top headset strap into the top two center slots on the headset band. Gently pull up the top headset strap to lock it into place.

Then align the tabs on the back pad (arrow marker should point up) with their corresponding slots on the headset band.

Press firmly along the back pad to reattach it to the headset band.

IMPORTANT: Minimize the gap as much as possible between the headset pad and the headset band.

Align and stick the head pad to the thin velcro pad that's attached to the top headset strap.

Replace the cradle.

From the base of the wireless adapter, detach the screws and remove the cradle that's used for VIVE.

Attach the cradle for VIVE Cosmos to the base of the wireless adapter, and then fasten the screws back into place.

Attach the wireless adapter to the headset.

Unfasten the velcro strap at the bottom of the wireless adapter.

Hook the clip between the thin velcro pad and the head pad.

Wrap the velcro strap of the wireless adapter around the head pad and press to attach.

Connect the headset cable and power bank to the wireless adapter.

Insert the other end of the short headset cable to the back of the wireless adapter.

Use the long USB cable to connect the power bank to the wireless adapter.

IMPORTANT: VIVE Cosmos can only use a 21-watt power bank, which we have included in the VIVE Cosmos Wireless Adapter Attachment Kit.

Please visit this page on a PC.

Download and install the VIVE Wireless app.

Follow the onscreen instructions to pair the Wireless Adapter with the wireless link box.
