HTC ANNOUNCES VIVE PRODUCT LAUNCH IN SOUTH KOREA
HTC partners with Korean retailers to bring VR into market from Nov 17th 2016
Busan – November 17- HTC Corporation (“HTC”), a pioneer in innovative, smart mobile and virtual reality technologies, today announced their virtual reality system, VIVETM will be available in South Korea on November 17th, making VIVE the first complete VR system available to consumers in the South Korean market.
Leveraging strong partnership with our distribution partner, JCHYUN Systems, VIVE will be available online at Vive’s official website and Auction/ G-Market. Retail sales and demo will be made available in retail chains including E-Mart, Electromart, Starfield and Hyundai Department Store in the upcoming weeks. In total, more than 30 retail locations will offer VIVE for demos and purchase by end of 2016. Each store location will boast an interactive VIVE demonstration station, fully open to the general public for individual sessions to experience a variety of virtual reality content supported by the platform. Consumers will also be able to purchase VIVE following an in-store demonstration, directly from each retailer.

In addition, HTC VIVE and the Busan Government have announced partnership agreement to jointly cultivate the VR eco-system in South Korea. The all-new “VR incubation program- powered by VIVE” will be run by the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (BIPA) while HTC will provide technical support and mentorship.
In conjunction with G-Star, South Korea’s biggest gaming show, HTC, along with Korean and global content partners, will showcase VIVE’s capabilities to the expected 200,000 visitors of the show. Some of the notable partners include Nexperience VR by Golfzon Yuwon Holdings, Korea’s largest indoor simulation entertainment company, and Skonec, one of Korea’s leading game development studios.
