What should I do to make sure eye and facial tracking work properly in VRChat?

For eye and facial tracking to work properly while doing a PC VR streaming session of VRChat® on a VIVE standalone headset such as VIVE Focus Vision, do the following:
Note: You'll need to install additional accessories for full facial tracking. You can purchase eye and facial tracking accessories for your headset on the VIVE Accessories page.

Enable streaming of eye and facial tracking data to VRChat

  1. In VIVE Hub, click > Settings > VIVE Streaming.
  2. On the Input tab, select the Eye and facial tracking data option under Stream avatar data to VRChat via OSC.

Install VRCFaceTracking (VRCFT) and the VIVE Streaming Face Tracking module

  1. On your PC, download and install VRCFaceTracking.
  2. Download the VIVE Streaming Face Tracking module.
  3. Launch VRCFaceTracking.
  4. On the left panel, click Module Registry.
  5. At the top of the screen, click + Install Module from .zip.
  6. Browse for the VIVE Streaming Face Tracking module (VRCFT_VSFT_Module_vx.x.zip) you've downloaded and click Open. You'll see a + Successfully installed module message at the top of the screen.
  7. On the left panel, click Home and make sure Toggle Tracking is on (The button is blue when it's on).

Enable OSC in VRChat

While in VRChat, press and hold the Y button on the left controller to open the Action Menu. Then select Options > OSC > Enabled.

Use an avatar that supports VRCFaceTracking

For eye and facial tracking to work properly, the avatar you're using must support VRCFaceTracking. For more details on how to create VRCFaceTracking-compatible avatars, check VRChat Avatar References.
